Towering waves crash against the steep clifss both to the north and south here. Over time they have eroded the cliff faces, forming magnificent arches and natural bridges, leaving a rocky east-west strip of land. In some places this strip is so narrow that waves from the Ocean of Isles to the south slosh over it to the other side, to stream into the bay to the north.

The Hermit's Library

The faded sign on this small tradepost used to read something else, but nobody remembers what it was. Now it is mockingly called by its current name because of the shelves upon shelves of books that line the wall, and because of the eccentric bearded man that runs it. The fact that he can hardly be named a hermit with all the traders coming and going doesn't seem to deter the name-calling.

The Hermit

Few remember this man's real name. Most just call him 'the Hermit' behind his back and snicker. It is amazing how this frail-looking man with his long grey beard can acquire this multitude of trade goods, but somehow he does. And they are in high demand. He hardly has time to read the many volumes that line the walls, with traveling merchants constantly coming by to take them off his hands, at any price.
