For ages the Dalan river flowed unchecked through these hills on its way south from the Fabapóron Mountains. Until a decade-long drought hit the plains and forestlands to the west. A massive dam was built to regulate the flow of the water with its locks and sluices, and to store the life-giving liquid in the great lake to the northeast for irrigation purposes.

Dalan Lock Keep

With the flooding of these hills, dozens of Caelians living in the valleys and on the lower slopes needed a new place of residence. Most of them found suitable work and a roof over their head in Dalan Lock Keep, a castle that is built into the dam it protects in such a way that it is impossible to tell where one starts and the other ends.
