These plains used to be part of the main island, but are now all but cut off from it by an enormous mass of ice to the southwest. Heretics believe the cause to be natural disaster, but the locals know the vanquished halflings that lived here before them angered the Winter Gods. The passes through the glacier are near impossible to traverse, so most travel is done by sea.

Trappers' Lodge

If this trappers' lodge, hastily converted to a store, seems a bit cramped, it is probably because it was initially built for halflings. The human posture of the Caelian merchant, whose head is nearly brushing the ceiling, dwarves the room. The top of the counter is made of glass, displaying a selection of the many fine gems that are bought and sold here.
