The waters of the Ocean of Isles flood these grasslands twice a year. While this makes the soil unsuitable for traditional ranching and farming, the plantlife here has successfully adapted. Near the coasts are several clumps of Mangrove forests, the trees filtering the salty water with their floating roots. Also, spices that can't be found anywhere else thrive here.

Between the roots of these massive trees is a floating marketplace. The merchants come by with their little boats and rafts, some setting up semi-permanent stalls right on top of the floating roots! Some traders are sailors in landing boats, heading straight back out to the open sea and their ship after securing provisions for the next leg of their journey to the unknown.
