With the massive mountain range to the south, this valley is cast in shadows for most of the year, except in high summer. This combined with the Ocean winds results in a very moderate climate, ideal for growing a multitude of fruits. It is therefore not surprising that groves and vinyards dot the landscape, and the sweet smell of blossoms is everywhere.

Appleton Village

As the name implies, this village's very existence is based on the growing, harvesting and consequently selling of apples. Several varieties are available, all grown around the small village's outskirts. Countless related products are made and sold here as well; from apple pies to syrups, jellies and preserves to cider and even a very renowned sparkling wine.
