What does it do?
- When units produce Iron in a mine only half the amount is extracted from the region. This effect is cumulative to racial advantages.
- Units inside a mine get +1 on their mining skill.
- You cannot produce Laen without a mine.
What you need to know about it:
- It is most efficient to produce an even amount of Iron in a mine (ie: multiple of 2). For example, mining 4 pieces will extract 2 pieces from a region and mining 5 pieces will extract 3 pieces from a region and mining 6 will also extract 3 pieces from a region.
- If you have a racial advantage (eg: Dwarves?) then it is most efficient to extract Iron in multiples of 8 for similar reasons to the previous point. (1/2 * 3/4 = 3/8)
- Even though a mine raises your mining skill level by 1 you still need a sufficient base skill to find the Iron. For example if the region has Iron at L6 but you only have L5 your unit will not be able to extract the Iron even if they enter a mine.
- A mine does not have any extraction benefit for Laen.
